I'm going to attempt to Become a Volunteer to help Foreign students, but should i as a quiet person?

I just want to meet them because i like cultures, i studied foreign languages and i never get chance to meet any .. so i saw this thing in the universities english program, that talks about volunteering to help. However i'm not like a typical american, and those programs usually advertise the TYPICAL AMERICAN with Good English skills, which i do not have. Should i or should i not try . And if not, what other aavenues can a shy hispanic person have to meet foreign students. I'm not outgoing in my american culture nor outgoing in my Mexican culture, so please don't say "teach spanish".. cause i'm not even good at that either.
