Yes... if he will play for a reduced rate of 10-12 million. His numbers were solid enough for a supporting outfielder. .270 26 HR 77 RBI... He'll play in about 120 games.
They have a good solid YOUNG pitching staff... if they manage to bag a top of the line free agent to bat behind Barry the team will be able to compete for the NL West title fairly easily.

If they want to finish at the bottom of the NL West standings, then they should. He's easily the worst left fielder in baseball. He can't move, his arm sucks. Heck, even the starting shortstop on his team (Omar Vizquel) said that he needs to go to the American League. Vizquel said that he can't play in the OF anymore, and analysts are saying that any NL team that signs him is doing it for the attendance boost that he'll bring while chasing down Aaron's record. He's a cancer in the clubhouse, a "me" first type of guy, so as a Dodger fan, heck yeah I want the Giants to re-sign him, but if they want to try to contend next year, then there's absolutely no reason they should even entertain the thought.

He should if he wants to play next season. He even said it himself, that he would like to finish his career with the Giants.

No. Every team should refuse to sign him. He should not be allowed to break records and especially enter the Hall of Fame. Maybe that'll teach him...

At the league minimum, why not? Otherwise it would be a poor decision. There are better outfielders out there than Bonds.

He's a waste of money, they need to invest in younger players. He only wants to stay around to break the all time home run record with a BALCO assist.
