Hey 40 year old virgin, hardartsystems, what kind of yoga do you have to practice to be able to put your head so far up your own a ss?

Ernesto "Che" Guevara was a disgusting, deplorable human being. In fact, I would hardly even call him a human being, in my opinion, once you have sunk to the level of murder, you cease to be a human being. He is certainly not the worse person to ever live, but he is certainly high on list of atrocious ones.

One who kills thousands of people for the sole reason that said people disagree with one's political view point and attempts to rationalize it with "the ends justifies the means" argument has not only completely abrogated his position; but is just what he is, a plain murdering scoundrel.

And anyone who heaps praise on him is either an idiot, a fool, or needs a very long History lesson. And they are most likely the same hypocrites that now demonize Bush, stating he is a murderous dragoon and has kill thousands of innocent people in an attempt to force democracy on Iraq.

If you vilify Bush for this, you MUST also vilify Che for doing the same.

One last comment to topfiverecordsx, you are absolutely wrong. China under Mao, the USSR under Lenin and Stalin, and Cuba under Castro are forms of communism. They all had/have all land and business owned and controlled by the state, job assignment according to the one's ability, and wage controls.

Karl Marx himself stated in the Communist Manifesto that in order to overthrow capitalism there had to be a pro tempore dictatorship of the proletariat. However, no communist government ever evolved out of dictatorship. That is the problem when you do not have democratic constraints on power, your government ends up forever in dictatorship. Once you overthrow a free market based democracy, you have no government in place, so the most brutal, ruthless person of the revolution ends up dictator for life. Moreover, in order to keep that power the dictator must control all aspects of peoples' lives, which mean no personal freedoms. This is exactly what happened in Russia, China, and Cuba.

And I would hardly call Venezuela a communist country; they do not meet any of the criteria.

Even though they seem to be shrinking smaller and smaller, you are dreaming if you think there is another country that has more freedoms than the US. Even so called free countries in Europe severely curtail freedoms. If you don't believe me, in protest, try giving a Nazi salute in Germany, and see how fast you end up in jail; so much for freedom of speech. Without a Constitution guaranteeing your rights, your liberties are completely governed by the whims of what government is in power because law and "tradition" can change, but a Constitution is nearly immutable.

Che was just one of a group of South American revolutionaries in the 1960`s and early 1970`s, Fidel Castro, now the Cuban leader was another. In those times, many well educated young men from `poor`families joined revolutionary groups to make a stand against the right wing governments who were put into office by the wealthy landowners. The governments were corrupt and did nothing to improve the living standards of the people. Che and his contemporaries were communist idealists, who hated right wing politicians. As far as we know Che had no outstanding abilities, other than he was a guerrilla fighter and had been photographed with Fidel Castro. It was not until his unfortunate death that people began to know of him, mainly due to the now famous head and beret shot of him taken by an unknown photographer. This image has been copied onto all manner of consumer apparel and sold at profit, with no one receiving`royalties` for it, Poor Che would turn in his grave if he knew about it! It has also been used as a rallying flag by any number of young people ever since, it has been used as a symbol of defiance. I think Che was an alright kind of guy. I think he would be pleased with his 21st century image.

To The Mayor, after all the BULLSHIT you have written (thinking you know at all) one sentence in your worthless writings sums you up ; why on earth should you not be arrested in ANY Country for giving a Nazi salute. That is nothing to do with freedom of speech. It is downright fascist and racist.
And i think a lot of people answering this question are just a little annoyed that Che Guevara kicked the US out of Cuba.

Any one that truly believes in a power to the people is the enemy of big greed.. having said that..yahoo answers is part & parcel with that same greedy system. What I mean by that is.. we are so entrenched in our technologies and gadgeted lives that to truly give it back to us.. we would have to let all of our trappings go..to divest from the systems that Cages us with the things we want is nearly impossible.. and that was what Che represented. True departure from the authoritarian construct..
May he rest in ..
PEACE !

Before the right-wing slander session occurs I'd like to put in my two cents.

Before anyone decides to go on a tirade about Communism and Socialism, please make sure that you understand the economic systems and how they operate. Do not cite Cuba, China, or the USSR under Stalin as examples of Communism as they are NOT. They are facist dictatorships parading under the guise of Communism. Do not begin to tell me that there are no freedoms in Venezuela. You heard that from the television and it's bollocks. Venezuelans have more freedoms than do Americans. Their television is completely uncensored and because the people who run the networks are RICH NEO-LIBERALS(that doesn't mean Liberal), all the networks are caustic and terribly anti-Chavez.

Ernesto Guevara was a worthless piece of **** who helped slaughter thousands of innocent people. He's not my 'Che'.

It's funny as all hell though to see his face plastered all over middle American white kids. I'm sure he'd find that embarrassing as could be. That's the pleasure I get when I see his face; At least some capitalist (which he hated) company is making money off of him.
