File Chapter 7 which eliminates those nasty credit cards. It is the best way to go and gives you a "fresh start". You can eliminate all credit cards with no repayment!You can get a bankruptcy kit at any Staples or Office Supplies store. All total you can do it yourself for under $400 (probably around $350 with the $240 bankruptcy fee, miscellaneous costs and packet cost). The good thing about Chapter 7 is you don't have to go bankrupt on all your credit cards. If you want to keep one for future use don't declare it and get rid of all your other high balance credit cards.

Depends on which type Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 - one you don't the other you restructure and payback.
