Practice without using a calculator. My BF did and he was faster than the rest of his classmates.

Just review your basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. When you get to the higher maths, you will find that it will all fall back to the basics, which many forget.

When your teacher gives you new formulas and functions, stay after class and ask questions, even ones you think are dumb, that is what they are paid for. If they are unwilling, ask for help from another math teacher. With each new thing, take the time to spend about 30 mins. really looking at the problems. See what they are trying to get from it.

I am not a math major, my BF is, and he helps me with all the work I get in college, look for another student that you see trying hard to get that "A" in class, ask them for help and see if you can help one another. That is the whole point of community learning.

Ask your parents, if they can, try and ask them at the same time everyday for help. IF they are not great at math, see if your school has a free tutorial center, some do.

Do not be afraid they are just numbers. YOU can do it, just relax breathe and know that you can take your time. Make sure that you have a quiet place to study so you can focus on what you are needing to do.

I will be praying for you and that God will send someone to you that can assist you. May God bless you!

Yo!! Bro, first of all asses urself, as 2 what position u r in ur mathematics. Then set small term goals, like solving simple problems and then achieve them. Give urself few rewards as soon as u achieve ur goals and then take it step by step, each step a small bit and then I'm damn sure u r gonna succeed in mathematics. Once u r done with small term goals then go to big money goals of scoring more than 90% and hope it works. I did the same and it worked out very well. Now in my mid terms i scored 98/100 and due 2 the above method. Before I used 2 suck scoring around 70's and around it. While doing so, don't be mad if u can't solve a problem. Have a good guidance whom u feel as someone who really could help u out in ur probs. But he should not solve all of ur probs only help u out in probs which u find it extremely difficult

Math is understaning, intelligence and creativity. You already know math; in your daily life, paying bills, paying tickets, tendering change, watching time, calculating time, calculating distance, follwing game scores etc. You only need to have interest to improve math. If not intersted, basic math will do. Math is a passion, the more deep you get invovled, the more it imroves and get addicted

I had a similar problem. Sometimes it is the teacher's failing . I had trouble with some parts of maths ( algebra and trig ) in school so I went to night school 2 nights a week. the teacher there expalined things a lot more clearly.

Spend the time to understand each concept, ask for help from your teacher or other knowledgeable person for things you don't understand. Work lots of examples to make sure the concepts are firmly embedded in your mind. If you don't miss anything, you should find it pretty straightforward, as eash thing you learn builds on previous concepts.
