Bad side affects include decreased short term memory, enlarged blood vessels in the eyes (bloodshot), tar in the lungs, increased appetite leading to weight gain, and poor motivation. My ex didn't smoke much when we were married, but eventually smoked every day and when our son was four years old he told me, "I don't like Daddy when he smokes because he changes." That did it for me. I left the guy and never looked back.
No one wants someone with an addictive personality who can't handle life unless they're high. It's a deadend, no-win path to take in life, and if you plan on having children, doing drugs is the last thing you want to teach them by your example.
There doesn't seem to be a physical addiction as much as there is psychological addiction. Unfortunately, the psychological addiction increases over time. And studies show that psychological addiction can lead to experimentation with stronger drugs with real physical addictions.
You should reconsider friendship with this peson. What kind of friend would try to get you involved in drug use? It's illegal! It's not cool, and is actually an indication of feelings of inadequacy. You're not good enough the way you are naturally, so you take drugs.
The fact is, you can get a better high by doing something physically active which produces seratonin. Unfortunately, marijuana makes you "laid back" where you have no motivation to do anything physical. Unless you want to become an over weight couch potatoe with no motivation, stop the marijuana right now.

the worst thing it does is make you ok with boredom, which you may otherwise use to learn a new skill or gain some knowledge. And yes, short term memory can be effected.
BTW, there's new evidence that smoking the reefer may prevent Alzheimer's!!!
Weed does not kill you, you can not OD on it, and it is WAY safer than alcohol.

No and yes.
smoking it is bad , so don't. You can cook it in many ways. I used to melt chocolate and then saute weed and add it then pour into molds wrap the bars and go to the movies with friends, or hand them out at ball games to other players.
The bad, smoking, short term memory deficit, good but slow driving, loss of all financial aid forever for college, (it is a law).
Glad I got done with college ( 3.86 GPA in Chemistry)
Just keep in control and study HARD. a full 50% of the students flunked out of organic and more in later courses.
I tend to think self control and hard work are the keys.

I have been smoking for about 13 years and all I can say it really has effected me is my memory. I cannot remember things as good as I used to. It is different for everybody, take these answers in stride. How you feel about it is more important than what we think. You shouldn't smoke it to be cool, or fit in. I smoke it cause I really enjoy the great taste of some organic chronic. Only smoke the good stuff, or you are wasting you time and money and you are making somebody rich off smoking their crap weed. Have some standards!

Weed is 8 times harsher on your lungs than cigerette. With that being said, typically it also doesnt have the toxins added (hopefully) that a cigarette would have. Other possible problems include mood swings, chest congestion, and of course much more serious long term health risks. Is it going to kill you today? tomorrow the next? no way. In fact i just read a recent study that finds a possible link between weed and preventing altztimer's, so who knows. Its does have medical benefits though.

Yes, it does have bad side effects. For one, it hinders your short term memory. The chemical in marijuana, THC, changes the way in which sensory information gets to the brain. It causes respiratory problems when smoked regularly. There is more tar and carbon monoxide inhaled when smoking a marijuana cigaretter, compared to a tobacco one. It can also cause sever anxiety and panick attacks.

Yes, it does. My bro committed suicide. We found a 17 pages journal in his apartment, in which he wrote about how he craved more and more of that stuff.... he added that he should never have started smoking it. That stuff made him more and more depressed.
My bro's warning to you: stop smoking that stuff! Addiction is something you can't control- once it's got a hold of you. It will make you forgetful and self destructive.
And also: your eyes will turn reddish... you will try to hide it by wearing sunglasses all the time. Another side effect is that your heart will beat differently.....

Well, it obviously isn't good for your lungs. Really hurt me when I started cause I was a hockey player and my stamina was affected. Other than that it affects your short-term memory.
Although, I still smoke today, and I just have to make sure to get plenty of exercise and ignore my munchies sometimes.
