I always had a bag of dried chick peas in my car if they got close I would flick one out the window they dropped back thinking they were stones hitting their screen.

I think you should see the standard of car driving on the roads before criticising lorry drivers.
You may see one or two bad lorry drivers on the road, but you will see twenty times as many bad car drivers.
I have never had a lorry driver overtake me on the inside as I am turning right at a roundabout.
I have never been overtaken by a lorry that then blocks the road at the next right turn.
I have never had a lorry pull out in front of me on the motorway causing me to brake.
These tricks are reserved for car drivers.

Firstly - All lorry drivers are car drivers aswell. You get good and you get bad .
Secondly - This is not true in all situations but i would say most cases of lorrys sittin behind a car ( tailgating ) - all Lorrys above 3.5 ton are limited to 90kph ( 55mph ) when travelling on the motorway most lorry drivers just sit in the nearside lane with there foot flat on the floor at 55 . Then you get a car overtake you at say 57mph , then he starts doing 55 mph then he speeds up to 60 mph then he slows down to 52mph hence the lorry keeps sittig right up behind him. Answer to resolve problem all car drivers should drive at least 60mph on motorways then lorrys would not be able to sit right up behind them.
Thirdly - have you ever sat in a 44t truck and looked in the mirrors , it is quite a large piece of equipment which is not easy to drive .
And last of all - Nobody hits another vehicle on purpose thats why its called an accident , that driver will now have to fill out endless accident forms and be dissaplined - maybe even loose hes job.
In case your wondering I am a traffic manager for a large uk based logistics company.

Because, my friend, and this is worrying, a lot of them are daydreaming or half asleep...
There has been no end of times I have been behind a lorry on the motorway and it has drifted into the hard shoulder and back again.... The standard of Lorry drivers has dropped dramatically in recent years. Truck drivers used to be referred as "The Knights of the road", now I'm afraid, it's "death by multiple wheels"
I was listening on the CB the once and heard a couple of parked up drivers going on about driving. One said he had tried everything to get a job but had to return to truck driving as no-one would have him....
Not all truck drivers are like this but there are a lot who are.... It's scary as hell if you think about it........

because car drivers who have all day to get there do not seem to care that a lorry driver has a job to do and is limited to how much time he can drive and like them enjoys sleeping in his own bed at night(pull-over and let him pass)and just think that everything you buy allmost at sometime has to go on a lorry

Bad drivers are all over the world !!!! I live in the U.S. I was shopping,my car was in a parking lot,it was hit by a car that was putting out. The drive was across from where I was parked. He backed up into my car and then left. He said that I didn't come out. the Policeman asked him if he told anyone in the store...."NO". I'm sorry about you car.

lack of attention to the road ahead of him. Have had the same problem when a car piled into the rear of my truck when parked up in a layby. He broke my rear lights but wrote his car off. No injuries thank goodness, just his dented car and pride. Hope your car situation gets sorted soon.
