Toyotas last a long time, get good gas mileage, and are low maintenance, if that's what you mean by better. Can't beat a Beemer for performance, but the maintenance can be a bit pricey.

I think the best cars would be hybrids. I don't know about maintenance, but the gas mileage should pay for the extra costs, and then some, given the price of gas.

If you look for overall quality, insurance, and maintenance cost.
I would suggest Toyota, then Nissan. If you don't mind maintenance cost and such then go with German. As for others, you might want to consider Hyundai. Their cars are crap during their earlier years. Last couple years they have really improved their image as well as quality and price is generally low. As for domestic cars, I have some doubt over the some quality and some of their current financial situation effects on cars now and later.

I'm going to say Honda. They are extremely reliable and have a greater resale value. I have a 91 civic that I have had for over 5 years and have had very minor problems with it, even though it had over 200,000 miles on it.I have had several cars and wouldn't trade that car for anything but a newer version of it. Stick with honda!!!

Well it depends on what you need it for, if you want luxury, then the best are Lincoln, Cadillac and Chrysler, but mind you, Lincoln is the best.

If you want horsepower, make your own car.

If you want to go from point a to point b, and have the car last a good amount of time, get a Toyota.

If you want an SUV, go kill yourself.

Go with GM. They are building great cars like the G6 Pontiac, and they back them up with a 100,000 mile waranty. Does that say enough about them?
