Would it be better to rent a motorcycle in Oahu than a car?

I will be traveling to Oahu in April of 2007. The place we are staying charges $17.00 a day to park. We both have our motorcycle indorsement. Only problem is theft!

Personally, I've taken the city busses over various parts of Oahu, and found it a great way to see the "real" Oahu.
