well im 16 and my periods have been out of whack since 2004. I started my period when i was 11 and now i'm 16 and they still havent regulated yet. Like i dont have just one period a month i have at least 2 or 3 a month then some months i wont get one. My mom doesnt know and i'm not too sure as if to whether i should tell her because i dont like seeing doctors and i definitely dont want anyone (male or female) looking at my pivate area. Oh and also they are heavy , pad every hour to hour in a half. I'm just kinda tired of them coming too frequently. Please dont leave smart comments i just need some advice. oh and about the doctor thing i dont even allow my pediatrician to look she looks at me funny but i say to myself so what. Im not a smart mouth child i just dont like too much touching. And i also heard some terrible things about the gyno and what they do. And my mom had the same thing wen she was young and it was a tumor on her ovary.I dont want tha 2 be me but i'm seriously scared.

Honey, you need to get over your fear of the doctor. They are professionals and will not be looking at your privates in a sexual or nasty way. The only advice I can give you is ask your mother to take you to the doctor and be honest about what it going on. It's not normal and ignoring it is not going to make it go away.
The gynecologist is not that bad. It's nobody's favorite way to spend time, but it's something you're going to have to do throughout your life as a woman so you might as well get the first trip out of the way. After that it won't be scary.

Go to a family practitioner. When I was young they put me on birth control to get regulated. It did not require an exam because I was a virgin and you should not need an exam until 18 or 20 if you are a virgin. If you are not ... I would see the gyno just to make sure everything is okay.

You need to go to an OBGYN doctor ASAP! You are 16 and rather if you are sexualy active or not, you are old enough to go. It may not be anything serious, but you need to be checked out and they can help you with this. Alot of woman take birth control pills to help regulate their period. Please tell you mother, I had the same problem and now at 24 they say I cant have children. GET HELP!

You probably have a condition known as "dysmenorrhea- "abnormal periods". It generally is not serious, but may lead to anemia (excessive bleeding) and pain. The treatment is 'the pill".
Talk to your family Doc. Sometimes it may not be necessary for you to have a 'pelvic" before you are started on the pill for dysmenorhea.. good luck

You do need to see a doctor for this condition. Is there a family planning clinic in your area? They are usually staffed with all females, and they are used to dealing with girls coming for their first check-ups who may be nervous. In my experience, they are more pleasant to deal with than an OB/GYN.
