they will try to stop labor anytime before 36 to 37 Weeks after that they won't stop it. HOWEVER if your water breaks they will give you steroids for the baby's lungs then try to deliver as soon as possible after those treatments for the lungs. Babies born after 27 weeks have a 90% survival rate BUT THEY HAVE long stays in the NICU and struggle a lot the more you are past 27 weeks the better chance of less issues. At 33 that is still too soon the baby could be weeks or even a month or more in the hospital but, should pull Thur and be fine in the long run. As long as your water is not broke the baby is not in stress they try to let the pregnancy go as far as possible and will try things to stop the delivery.

They would probably try to stop your labor if possible. The last 4-6 weeks of pregnacy is when the baby's lungs are developing to be able to breath properly when born. Also the digestive organs are developing to be ready to start processing milk/formula. A week or two is concidered ok; but you're still 7 weeks out. As for health of the baby. There's a good chance or respiratory problems this early. Premature babies are also in a higher risk catagory for more things you can think of: allergies, asthma, learning disabilities, behavior problems, ect........
You're almost there. Don't do anything that would cause pre-mature labor if that is what you are concidering. It is still toooo early. My first was actually 3 weeks late and I survived it.
good luck

Your doctor would probably try to delay labor, the baby's lungs aren't fully developed yet. If you did deliver your baby would probably be put into a neonatal care unit in an incubator, with a respirator and possibly UV lights.

Hey i actually went into labor at 33 weeks ,they will giveyou an i.v and give you magnesium which is so awful,it mas you sck and you can't eat or drinl anything because it will make you throw up.They will also give you surfactin which is a steroid that helps you baby's lungs mature. They would give you 2 surfactin shots 24 hours apart and that will make your baby a little more prepared to come into this world early. He would still have to stay in the nic-u until his due date depending on how well he is.Try to rest because you do not want this to happen,it is one of the worst things i have evergone through in any of my pregnancies.

my 3rd baby was born at 34 weeks and was perfectly healthy. If they doctor thought you would be going into labor early he would give you steroid shot to develop the babies lungs. My son was born at 5 lbs 2 oz and went home with me 2 days later.

if your baby was born right now he has a very strong chance of being normal and healthy. I know a lady with a set of twins that were born at 32 wks 5 days and they are doing great. they are about 9 months old now and developing fine.
f your doctor feels it is necessary, then yes, you will get something that will stop contractions. This happened to me about then with my first one and I went to 41 wks with him. Just monitor your body and let your doc know if anything feel like labor. real labor. good luck.
mother of 2 with one on the way. you are 3 weeks ahead of me!

a baby can be kept alive if born as early as 26 weeks with the technology that doctors have now; however, if you want your child to be healthy without having to stay in the hospital for an extended period, his best odds are after 37 weeks gestation when his lungs are developed well enough to function on their own

Well, every baby is different. My aunt had to remove her baby when she was only 6 months pregnant due to high cholesterol. The baby stayed in the incubator for 1 month and was healthy afterwards. My aunt's sister-in-law had to remove her baby at 6 months, but the baby weighed only 1lb and 7oz. The baby did survive but it stayed in the hospital much longer. Both of them had cesareans.
If you happen to be contracting and it is time for your baby to come out, your baby should be fine, but due to the weight of the baby, he/she might be staying at the hospital until the weight goes up. Normal babies arrive after 9 months because the lungs take longer to develop.
