There are two main east/west roads between these two cities: either US27/Hwy41 (Tamiami Trail) and I-75 (Alligator Alley).

Take I-75 east until it intersects I-595 and the Sawgrass Expressway; take the Sawgrass Expy. north until it connects you to either the FL turnpike or I-95.

Both I-95 and the FL Turnpike will take you North to Ft. Pierce.
