I DON'T THINK IT SAHRPENS THEM , BUT IT'S HARD ENOUGH TO GRIND OFF ANY BUILT UP CRUD STUCK IN DRAIN SLITS & GO DOWN THE SINK & NOT DAMAGE BLADES.

I don't know if it sharpens the blades, but it does grind against the walls of the disposal and remove all the crud that builds up inside the unit.

Ice cleans the blades not sharpen them. It's how the cleaners on aircraft clean the tubes from the toilets to the holding tanks, big loads of ice down the hole!

Garbage disposal blades aren't sharp to begin with. If they were the manufacturers would be facing lawsuit from people cutting their hands trying to clear debris when the blades get stuck.
