If you have ever felt "out of sorts" then maybe you can understand that you have little control over your mood and who gets treated somewhat poorly because of it. Sometimes when you are not feeling well for whatever reason, you may get cranky and snap at someone or just get a little too honest if you are in pain.

Unfortunately, women endure pain regularly, and their hormones can create a mood similar to your hangover, lack of sleep, or "i've had a terrible day" mood. Some women have a better grasp on how to be aware when this happens, and how to control their moodiness. And some just don't. Sorry.

BTW - I would rather have someone be crabby with me on a schedule where I can explain the reason for their sensitivity, instead of having to bear the pain and awful feelings every month. Just one person's opinion. Hope it helps you understand a little better.

Edit: TomCruise - That's a very good point as well - it really is a nasty feeling. I think it is a terrible joke on us.

May I say sorry in advance for having to deal with PMS. But woman do not have a choice whether they are crabby or not during their periods. Women go through hormonal changes during this time and this can cause mood swings amongst other symptoms that make them uncomfortable and crabby. Some women have them worse than others. So, why do women assume it's ok to be crabby? Because it is ok. Your best bet is to avoiding an argument with a women experiencing PMS by not mentioning their mooyness, you'll only make it worse.

Women are undergoing a lot of physical changes inside them during that time of the month, most of all they have to bear with severe cramps in their belly as well as headaches and all that plus they have to deal with the world and look normal. There's a lot of things that they are dealing with at that time so the best thing you can do is be understanding to them...

Well I don't put up with it, but I can see where the crabbiness comes from. Imagine if you had to walk around with a bloody load in your pants all day, you'd have a short fuse right?

We don't assume it's ok, we can't help it. Anyway look at all the crap we have to deal with from you guys!! Cheating, lying, not being fair in bed (you know what I mean), not doing your fair share of chores around the house, or helping with the kids enough, having double standards, and I can go on here, but won't. You guys still come out ahead!! Deal with it buddy!

Most women can't help there crabbyness. If your with a woman that has uncontolable rages during that time she might have a serious problem that can be diagnosed by a Dr. and she can get Meds that will help with her crabbyness. If not then I suggest that u deal with it we have to bear children I think u men can deal with a little cabbyness!!!!!!!

who says we assume it okay? Isn't everyone entitled to be crabby one in a while?

we don't just assume it's ok to be crabby...WE ARE CRABBY! and it is because of outrageously fluctuating hormone levels. check out www.webmd.com and search pms. they will explain the whole sordid story for you.

I know, I'd like to see what would happen if a guy blamed hormones for staring at a hot chick while he's with his wife. That wouldn't fly, that's for sure.
