It's just an old saying. The way to get a mans heart is through his stomach. A woman that cooks great meals .. is hard to come by. They mean it as a compliment. Good Luck! :)

Men love to eat! They are more affable on a full stomach. My mom always told me that I could get anything out of my husband AFTER he's eaten, and for the most part, she was right.

Why do you think? Men love a woman that can cook. It shows him you are taking your time to prepare a meal for him that will satisfy him. If you can satisfy his stomach he'll know you can satisfy other things.

It's an old expression. They probably say it because they are interested in you, and they want to give you opportunity to offer to cook for them one of these days. Guys can be sort of dopey and dont know what to say.
