A Ouija board can be an interesting experience. Some believe it is a doorway to another world and warn against its use, but most people see it as a harmless diversion, especially if it's not taken too seriously. Here are some guidelines.
1. It takes two to Ouija. Usually one person is not able to work the Ouija. Get a friend to use it with you. A male and female is usually recommended.
2. Timing. Most practitioners suggest using the board at night when, they say, less interference is in the atmosphere.
3. Create some atmosphere. The Ouija is more fun if you darken the room and light some candles. Turn off the TV and any music to minimize distractions.
4. Have a seat. The two users should sit facing each other, with knees touching if possible, with the board on their laps. Don't use a table.
5. Decide on a questioner or medium. Even though both people can ask questions -- or anyone else in the room can -- only one of the users should be the medium (the one to formally ask questions of the board).
6. Place your fingers on the planchette. You and your partner should place the fingers of both hands very lightly on the planchette, or pointer.
7. Move it. Purposely move the planchette around in a circle on the board for a moment or two to get it 'warmed up. '
8. Attitude. Don't let the board control the session. The medium should begin by announcing that the session will only allow an experience that is positive or toward a higher good and that negative energies are not welcome.
9. Begin simply. Start with a simple question, one that requires a yes or no answer.
10. Be patient. You might not begin to get answers right away. Give the board a chance to 'warm up. '
11. Be polite. When the board starts working, thank the board or entities for showing up and communicating with you.
12. Don't ask stupid questions. Avoid questions such as, 'When am I going to die?' If the board answers, 'in 6 months, ' you might just worry about it needlessly.
13. Don't ask for physical signs. Many experienced users warn against asking for physical signs that the 'spirit' is real or present.
14. Don't believe everything the board tells you. Just as with any other source of information, don't accept whatever the board says to be the truth or accurate.
15. Close the board. This is an important step. When you're done with your session, slide the planchette to 'GOODBYE' and remove your hands.
Tips:
1. Have someone write down the answers. Sometimes the letters spell out very quickly and it's difficult to keep track of what's being said. A third person with paper and pen can write down the message as it comes.
2. Play sober. You'll get better results if you haven't been drinking or smoking.
3. Maintain control. If the board starts giving rude, vulgar, obscene or otherwise disagreeable responses, break off the session immediately by closing the board.
Hope this helps. Goodluck!

Tips? That depends on what you're looking to get out of the experience.
If you're curious, and just dinking around you may or may not get anything at all. Sometimes you may get a ghost that is confused and doesn't know what it's talking about. Or one that is malicious, can leave you feeling 'drained', down or freaked out - all of which are negative energies and the main reason people avoid Ouiji in the first place.
If you wanted to get something more tangible; in theory you could ask for an angel or higher power to come speak to you. But to make sure that is what you get: you would need to say an intent outloud that you ask for the area you are in to be 'sealed off and cleared of any negativity for the duration of the Ouiji session'. Ask for a 'protective white light to surround everyone and the board'. Then ask for a 'high vibrational entity' such as a spirit guide or angel to use the board.
You would get much more accurate answers from an entity that is pure than one who is negative and 'shifty'. Unless you're looking to get creeped out on purpose I'm sure there are plenty of psychotic ghosts who would be happy to oblige but that doesn't sound like fun to me.

Just one, before you try it, do this first. Spend a night in a run down area of town, and leave your windows open. If you feel comfortable with that, then by all means, use the board.
*That btw was sarcasm, to point out just that you Wouldn't sleep in a bad area with the windows open, so why mess with something that seems to mess with people's heads?*

the perfect conceivable suggestion i will furnish you with is do no longer DO IT. Ouija forums are a way of inviting spirits into your life. And those aren't any more the spirits of the useless, they are demonic spirits who will toy with you, mess with you, and attempt to intertwine themselves on your lives and homes. PLEASE do only not DO IT. human beings come on right here and ask those questions and say, "do not even worry to inform me no longer to do it because i will do it besides". i'm no longer conserving you're on of those human beings, i'm only asking that you do not do it firstly. human beings invite those demons to respond to questions for them, then the demons answer their questions as a thanks to get you to ask better and invite them in even further, they pretend to be your exceeded loved ones or others who think about not in any respect even heard of. And If my note can't supply up you from doing it, the only component i will say is pray for protection and watch what you ask of the board.

Yes, its always good to say a short prayer to the god or goddess of your choice for protection. I usually do the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram before working with an ouiji, just to clear my mind of any negativity. Remember, your not talking to spirits or the dead or demons, your talking to the collective uncouncious.

Be very very careful. You're opening the door between the worlds and not all spirits are nice. Whoever you contact may be lying about who they are. Or even anything else you ask. And if you don't close the door when you're done, you may regret it. Ghosts and spirits can do many things, and you have no defense against them.

Light candles in a circle all around you and turn off the lights. You may want to put on some music, it's up to you. Nothing too loud though. You may have to start it moving in small circular motions to get it going, but after that let it do the work. Clear your mind and concentrate on your questions (one at a time). Have fun!
