i am studying cs as a subject for std XII . how does it help if i aspire to go for computer engg. ? is it difficult for a student of comp. engg. without background of cs in XI & XII ? ARE THERE ANY SIMILARITIES IN the portion of cs for std. XI & XII AND comp. engg. ?

This gives you feel of things to come and make you get accustomed to the environment .Yes it is definitely advantageous if you have some knowledge and this is what they do in class XI and XII of computer science.
