We have some woods around, I have a deck I like to sit at night. I have had a bat come near me. Is there something I can do without hurting my cats or dogs?

Turn off lights. Lights attract insects and the Bats are after the insects.

As far as I know, a bat flying into your hair or attacking you is a myth, do you have a mosquito problem in your area? if so, then you should feel lucky to have a bat living near because as you probably already know...they consume hundreds of them every night. But if you really want to rid of it, I suggest setting a trap with proper bait.

Yes get you some clay owls. Put them on your porch or deck at night the bats will stay away. You can get the owls at home depot or a feed store. Just ask they will know what you are talking about.

bats r beneficial as they eat bugs in the air (mosquitoes) - they might seem to get too close sometimes - but they won't hurt u or ur pets .
