I was wondering what to look for on the screen when they are performing a sonogram.

Ask the tech doing the sonogram -she/he may be helpful and may even turn the screen so you can see - but they are not allowed to say anything that sound like a diagnosis - "like see that white area" but could explain what they are looking for and you can take it from there. If it is the doctor doing the sonogram they can tell you right then, but may wait till you are dressed to give you results.

It should be a solid white mass. (shape). But sometimes, they show up as slightly lighter areas of gray.
