Coursework was set up because some people found exams too difficult to sit, thus lowering grades.

As you are aware, we are at about 97% passrates. Obviously, now that coursework is going to be ruled out, no children will have problems setting exams, ALL children will now pass their exams, giving us 100%, proving the government were right all along!

(of course, I do not understand why examiners cannot scan the coursework into computers, and then compare them all! After all, you can do this in a basic way with Word. I am sure someone could develop a programme that can match any paragraphs that are the same, no matter where they are in a piece of work - and if they are the same, they will have been cut and pasted from a website!)

My daughter has just sat an passed her GCSE's and her course work was hours and hours of hard work studying, collecting information from what ever resourses she could find and then spending hours putting it all together.
I am not ashamed to admit i gave her the day off sick to complete one set ofcourse work as it was to much for her to do.
Her Art work was off no internet it was all from her head and hands she got her A for that.Unfair for them to say it is cheated on for the many that do not cheat. I think exam results will fall by alot next year if this happens and the teachers will be run ragged even more.

Not all subjects are losing coursework, they'll just be teacher supervised so they'll be no chances of cheating from the net, or from help by parents. Hopefully this will get a better educated bunch than we're chucking out now.
