lead pencil is nothing but a pencil wich we use for drawing.

Pencils are no longer made of lead they are now made from a mixture of clay and graphite. I can’t speak that there are NO lead pencils being manufactured in the world market. But most major countries and manufactures do not use lead due to the health factors. Example for some reason EVERYONE seems to chew on them.. The risk did not stop there you also had the factor of the dust produced from writing. So the amount of lead in current production pencils is ZERO...

I honestly thought that no pencils contained Lead any more, either writing or drawing pencils, I thought lead was removed from them quite some time ago. I believe Graphite is used now a day's

They're all correct. Pencils have a fired mixture of graphite and clay in the 'lead' down the middle. There's actually more lead in the wooden bit round the outside after so many thousand tons of it were sprayed into the atmosphere in leaded fuel a few decades back.

Another misnomer. The "lead" is graphite. I suppose the first pencils had a soft metal core and that is why the name stuck.

Sounds strange but there is actually no lead in a lead pencil.

there is no lead in the lead in you pencil, its graphite. there used to be lead in the paint on the pencil, but they use different paint now.
