This has got to be the worst movie I have ever seen. We rented this movie last night thinking we would watch Mike Myers hack some people up and get to hear the trademark Halloween music play as he chased people around but NO..... This movie had nothing to do with the other Halloweens, it was the most boring & cheesy movie I have ever seen. Was just wondering if anyone else has made this mistake and wasted an hour and a half or so of your life on this movie? And if so what was your thoughts on it?

I actually had the bad taste to watch it twice. I couldn't believe it was really that bad so I had to watch it again just to be sure. Yep, crap just like I thought. What the hell was with that dumbass song, "8 more days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, 8 more days til Halloween, silver shamrock" Absolute garbage and an insult to the Michael Myers franchise.

The 'witch' in the movie title is Col. Cochran, who's a incarnation of the voice of Samhain that told Michael Myers to kill. This is all in the book versions. Michael Myers grandfather heard voices that told him to kill. Michael Myers heard voices that told him to kill. Col. Cochran, in H3, IS that voice in human form! That's the connection, just wasn't explained well in the movie. Forget the other Halloween movies though and this is an EXCELLENT John Carpenter movie! Dean Cundy, who played the shape in the first 2 movies, even does a cameo as a robot assasin! He gets crushed between 2 cars. Then you've got the veteran actors on board from other JC movies. You may recognize the doctor's ex-wife. She's the ONLY actress to be in ALL 3 of the first Halloween movies!

Yeah that's a very common mistake.. imagine being back then and thinking it was like the others and going to see it in the theater only to watch pumpkins on TV.... they were trying to get away from the whole Mike Myers thing, they didn't want to ruin a good thing, and trying to make a new scary movie but the reception from everyone was so terrible that they went back to our old friend Mike

Yes, I saw it in the theater when it came out in '82 I believe. I don't think it's a terrible movie but I know alot of people hate it because they attached the "Halloween" name to it. People felt ripped off because the movie didn't involve Michael Myers. It's a mediocre movie, I would give it ** (out of ****). At least they tried to do something different from the mundane, hackneyed slasher film.

Yeah, I pretty much agree. I think the name should've been simply the subtitle, "Season of the Witch." I think Halloween was added to get more people into the theaters when it came out, much like the trailer for Nightbreed, when it came out, was made to look like the ever popular "slasher" films of the times. Season of the Witch had potential, but with an apparent small budget and horrible writing, what can you expect.

Yeah, it is like, "what were they thinking?" Just stick to the first two and you have a perfectly good horror franchise that does not become too outlandish, save for the fact Michael Myers is a perfect driver despite having been locked in an institution all of his life.

I fully agree - Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is one of the worst piles of Limburger ever foisted off on the moviegoing public - and I'm speaking as a member of the moviegoing public who actually went and saw it in a theater on its opening night.

Was that the one with the masks that would suffocate kids when a certain commercial would play on tv? Ya, what orifice did they pull that lame duck out of?
