there are 340 cm in a spool of ribon i want to know how many feet are in it so i can decorate a 71/2 foot tree

You need to use dimensional analysis as follows:

340 cm (1 inch / 2.54 cm)(1 foot/12 inches) = # feet

When you do the math, you get 11.155 feet
