I am middle aged and I still get lectured from my 70+ mom on how I should live, any ages welcome.

My mom is always telling me like at your age boys are worthless you don't need to be dating. Whenever I hang out with guys she always asks me everything we did and it's not like I'm going to tell her the truth. I wish that I could talk to her about these kinds of things and questions I have, but she is so against everything of that nature I don't really have anywhere to go....except yahoo answers. haha just kidding. But you know what I mean a mother is supposed to be there no matter what but I have a feeling if she knew some of the things I did and people I associated with she would disown me or something.

They have now passed on, but those were the things I used to hear until they passed away.
My parents were mean and cruel, I used to run away from them so I could find peace and not be hit every time I stepped through the door wrong

Believe it or not, that's exactly what I was going to say! I wish my mom would stop giving me 'advice' - I love her very much, but I live my life a bit differently than she does, and I'm doing just fine.

I don't like getting lectured but I don't mind it because she just wants the best for me. That makes me think that she will never stop loving me as a daughter and I am dearly loved by my mother. I love her dearly as well but don't get irritated just take it in but make your own decisions.

That I sleep all day. Because I can't sleep at night. So I sleep 3 hours at night and 3 during the day. Mom wakes me up everyday fussing....Gets on my nerves.

I am a 31 year old man and I get a laugh out of hearing this question every time I visit my parents- "When am I going to have grandchildren???!!!"

My mom doesn't do this anymore but she used to always say "Up and AT EM" When she woke me up and eventually she added in "Up and AT EM Ant" Drove me crazy. I guess there is a singer Adam Ant or somethingâ¥

"She's always mad" referring to me. Sorry if I don't smile 24/7 mom. Dad is always calling me a bat or "batty" not in a mean way, but like if I have friends over, cut me some slack.

not to make u mad but parents always look out for you and there gonna keep giving you lectures about wat you do so you know right from wrong. Even if you move out they will still give you lectures because they care about you and they love you.

well once you reach a mature age you really don't have that problem I respect and loosen to everything they have to say to me..you too should appreciate every positive thing they ave to tell you its all in good intentinon and one Day they wont be around to say it
