In the particular case of child rape, 5 states have laws authorizing the death penalty, though none of carried out executions. Legal experts believe the laws would not survive a supreme court challenge.

Looking specifically at Texas, a state well-known for its number of executions, there are no capital offenses which don't involve murder.

Oklahoma is one of these states which allows the death penalty for repeat child molesters.

There's no such thing as a death sentence for rape, unless there is a murder with it.If I was the person to convict rapist,I would send them to the worst prison where,he would have to toss salads every mon.,wed.,&friday's,then the rest of the days ,he get gang bang all weekend by each prisoner. Then cut his penis off ,put it in a jar across his cell so he can see what got him in there in the first place.

no just for murder i belive.

But as a victum of rape I belive that in brutal rapes death should be an option----because in rape they take more then sex----they take a persons life in a way---i can never get back what was stolen from me-----and I was brutally raped so i still have flashbacks and mightmares from it to this day-----over 10 years later. You never really get over it----you just learn to live with it and all the effects.

no death sentence for rape(but I wish there was)
as far as I know there is no death sentence for anything other then murder. Try looking it up on Internet under criminal laws.

No on death sentence (although I support it for murder 1) but yes to castration.

killing a assassin does not deliver back his victims. some data show that murders are decrease in places that enforce a death penalty. i'm uncertain how lots of a dterrent it is for manslaughter and different varieties of "wrongful" death rates. in my view, i do no longer think the death penalty is mandatory, or effectual. however the jury continues to be out on that one

I believe that rapists should be forced to take medication that would not allow them to even THINK ABOUT raping again. Rape is a VIOLENT crime, so offenders deserve a good, long sentence.

I don't think in any state anything except murder carries a death sentence, except for conspiracy, but you have to conspire to commit murder.

Yes in Texas , but not for the rape alone, but ending with the
death of the victim.
