GoogleR got it right. Diamonds are pure carbon. Carbon burns. Ergo, diamonds burn. The physical state of an element does not change its chemical properties.
Caveat: Since the carbon atoms of a diamond are compressed so closely together, the O2 atoms have a hard time finding their way between them from the outside of the diamond to the inside, so the process can be very slow except when the temp is very high and the O2 is very concentrated...........

Diamonds do indeed burn although it's a very high temperature.
Assuming a perfectly pure diamond and a high enough temp all you would have left is carbon dioxide.

Diamond has a high specific gravity. A diamond does not conduct electricity well (it is a semiconductor), but conducts heat extremely well. At a high enough temperature in the presence of oxygen, diamond can burn

Anything that contains carbon can be burned. However, you'd need a fire as powerful as the sun to do it. Just keep the diamond and find a princess :-)

Yes but under special conditions. The diamond must be heated to about 1200C and immersed in liquid oxygen. All you get for your trouble is Carbon Dioxide.

Yes, a pure diamond in a bath of pure liquid Oxygen will burn,
you just have to throw it into a star.
But a better question is, why would you want to do that?

no because when the carbon mixes with the other things in the diamond, a chemical change happens and it is no longer pure carbon. no, a diamond wont burn
