Major Japanese electronics maker Toshiba Corp. said Friday that it is recalling 830,000 batteries made by Sony for its laptops, the latest in a growing global recall involving Sony batteries. Toshiba spokesman Keisuke Omori said the recall involves Dynabook, Qosmio, Satellite Portege and Tecra models, but regional breakdowns and dates of manufacturing weren't immediately available.

that doesn't make sense! if you have a toshiba laptop like i have, then you should have a toshiba battery. no recalls on toshiba batteries as far as i know. if you have a sony battery u should try sony's website. just type sony, or sony laptop's into url and pick the one that relates to your enquiry. alternatively. try c/net.com and search through they're arrchives. that's where i found out about battery recalls. plus it's a cool site full of information on latest gadgets and free software downloads.
