if its slate bed, then yes it has to be disassembled..just look underneath & see...theres a lot to explain by taking one apart & you really cant do it here...u dont really need a pro to do it but strong guys to move the slate..weighs about 300 lbs & will be in 3 pieces& very fragile..I do wish you luck..Yes i own a pool hall & know what im talking about...do not try to move it one piece...the slate will be to heavy to do that & you will ruin the table..wal mart table trash it for its particle board anyway....

Sledgehammer. My parents have had a pool table for almost 30 years because the previous owner of the house couldn't figure out how to get it out. Good luck.

Pool tables are ridiculously hard to move. They have to be broken down and moved in pieces and stages. Then when they are ready to be used again that have to be refelted, and have beeswax put down underneath the slate.

It's not worth it!

I had one as a uni student and we did it as follows...

We blew up several balloons and attached them to the pockets and under side of the table. We then carried it down to the local river and pushed it in....

It floated rather nicely!

Don't. If the table is worth anything - call a pro to move it for you.

The same way you put it together, except backwards.
