For ex...Have a secure web site, whereby congress could post the major bills or laws they have agreed on....

Then the constituents could vote on it using their account ID....only once..

Seems like it would give voters back some power.

Wouldn't this eliminate lobbying or at least reform it.

Why would the people in power want to change things around? The people in power act to preserve their power first and foremost - this is an unescapable fact of life.

It would be nice, though, to have technology work to improve humanity. It'll take more than technology to get this to happen, but I like your thinking.

More public information is a good idea. The web is a good place to put it.

Do you know that most members of Congress don't usually read most legislation in its entirety before they vote on it? Would we?

Maybe taking the time to read it would make representatives more accountable AND slow down the wheels of government (which I think can only be good).

I love your idea! I only wish "the system" wasn't so in deep with corruption, favoritism, and loyalists. Maybe if there were a few more open minded people in government, this would be possible. Good luck and have a great day.

like they want you to have that power? they like you dumb and down on the farm -- check out the latest on the wall they just voted on -- the money is already being reappropriated a day after but they are all going to go out and say they voted on the wall. i think voting with a gun would be better.

you are right, the problem is removing the huge bureaucracy. Right now gov't bureaucrats have a nice paying job for not doing much and they will not give that up without a fight.
