Why is it that whenever a "Republican" is confronted with an issue of their failure and/or misconduct, they refuse to take responsibility, choosing rather to 'throw to the wolves' their colleagues and subordinates or to excuse their actions by pointing to the unrelated misdeads of others?

The argument that they should not be held accountable because someone else did something wrong dosn't work for 5-year-olds. Why then are their followers so willing to accept from them what they wouldn't accept from their own chidren?

Good point. I've made it several times myself. Bring up Foley or Hastert and they start blathering on about something from 20 years ago. Sometimes I don't know why I even bother to try and have an intelligent conversation with people so fixated on their own false piety and perfection. Is it really all about image, smoke and mirrors with repubs or what?

How come whenever a Democrat does something wrong it's brushed off with an apology and it's OVER. As it should be! Then when a Republican does something an apology just WONT due, we want BLOOD we want THAT Republican to pay, and lets kick him out after he apologizes because we just can't stand to look at someone like that. Just in case you didn't know Democrats aren't the most upstanding people either. The point is especially with this war why is it NO ONE can stop with the POLITICS and just come back to earth and deal with the real problems and not the blame game, it's so childish.

I think you misunderstand the issue - what Republicans do is make the individual take responsibility for his own actions. That's basically the entire conservative philosophy boiled down.

If you want me to explain so you'll understand I'll try though; Mark Foley did something stupid/deviant/awful and resigned his office because of it. He isn't being defended by the Republicans as they've decided that they don't want him associated with their party and their agenda.

Compare and contrast with what the democrats did when WJC did more than send dirty text messages to an intern.

some sources would be helpful but both parties play that game. Just refer back to Clintons interview on FOX and look at the blame game being played by a professional

I'm a Republican, and I accept responsibility for everything I do. Don't make sweeping generalizations. It makes you sound like a fool.
