As well as forming the present participle of verbs, '-ing' is also a suffix forming nouns. Collins English Dictionary says, "the action of, process of, result of, or something connected with the verb: coming; meeting; a wedding; winnings"...Also, "(from other nouns) something used in, consisting of, involving, etc: tubing; soldering"...or, "(from other parts of speech): an outing". Hence, 'building'.

because the type of materials use to build a property nowadays are of poor quality, as soon as the you think the building is built things starts to break and you have to replace them so you never stop building.

why is an airport, which is supposed to be safe, called a terminal?
