It is a bit early but If you're real curious you could go to your doctor and have a blood test done just to make sure...

It is not too soon to test. Many home pregnancy tests like First Response will detect accurately as early as four or five days before your period is due. The dollar store tests should be accurate as well since your period is due in two days. It usually takes about 6 to 12 days for a fertilized egg to travel to the uterus and begin to develop and then another day or two for hcg to be released (pregnancy hormone detected by pregnancy tests). If both tests said negative then more than likely you aren't pregnant. However since your period is due in two days just wait and see if it comes. If not then test again and try a name brand test to see if there is a difference. Good luck.

False negatives are pretty common early on because the pregnancy hormone hasn't built up to a high enough concentration to be detectable in your urine. Since your period's not even due yet, it's really probably just too early to test. Try again on say Monday morning (with your first urine of the morning so the hormonal levels are the most concentrated) if your period doesn't come on Sunday.
The reason you probably had a false negative last time is because you'd tested later in the day when your urine isn't as concentrated.

A lot of HPTs can detect the HCG hormone up to 5 days before your missed period but I know a few people who had negative pregnancy tests until they were 2 and 3 months pregnant. The hormone levels are different with every woman. You can also ask your Dr. to perform a blood test. They are 100% accurate and they can tell you if you are pregnanct about 7 days after ovulation. Good luck!!!

A dollar store test most probably does not test for a low enough level of hcg to detect pregnancy early. Sometimes the top of the line expensive ones don't either. Your body might not have enough hcg yet to show on an OTC preg test. Be patient, and test again the middle of next week, but with a test from the drug store.

Those take-home tests measure your hormone levels. They are very accurate, the ones from the hospital do almost the same thing. However, your body might not have done the necessary changes yet. It can take awhile for your body to do the necessary changes to carry a baby. I would wait until you are 2-3 days late.

I believe that it was too early. I am playing the waiting game too so I know how hard it is. But advice from my doctor was to wait until my period was 2 weeks late to test. Implantation occurs 6-12 days after conception (8-10 being the norm). It isn't until 2 days after implantation that your body begins to produce HCG. HCG normally doubles every other day. So you just may not have enough to register yet. I would at least wait until next Sunday (just incase Aunt Flo is running late) to save yourself the expense and heartache of possibly getting another negative.

test probably are accurate. I always used cheap test and took them three days before missed period. They showed correct both times, one positive the other negative.

Depends on what kind of test. A lot of them now can detect pregnancy up to 5 days before your expected period
