The milky way is 100 000 lights years long and 30 000 light years wide.
There are several billion galaxies in the Universe.
The Universe keeps expanding in all directions at the speed of life.
Doesn't this make our disputes (political, religious, etc...) all seem kind of petty?

Anything that is impossed upon us by others or by ourselves that denies us to express who we truly are is the result of all the bull***t in the world. All the pettiness and seperation of the world can be eliminated if everyone realized that we all came from the very universe in which we live. We are a part of it just as it is a part of us. Untill we all learn to set aside all the bull***t between us then and only then will we know what our purpose in this universe will be.

The facts you quote do indeed at first glance make us and our day to day lives seem very ordinary and certainly so insignficant in the greater scheme of things....

But - we live in our own little Worlds....or to put it another way we have our own universe which is the be all and end all for us as individuals. Therefore the issues and difficulties that we have to face within this universe are the most important things for us....and therefore they are indeed extremely important in this context.

So on the basis that you only have one life [and I am sure people may want to debate that somewhere on here!].....make the most of it and treat every decision relating to your life as though it is the most important thing ever....

I have been considering this for several months now. I always wonder this when my boss throws a fit every time we make mistakes. In about 100 years, it won't matter. We will be dead and nobody is going to know about what happened.

Yeah...in the universal timeline, we must be like one of those dots, when your TV reception is busted and all you get is that grey static screen.
