hi
try using isoprophyl alchohol with a clean white cloth for total cleaning. The scratches may disappear slightly but the CD will be clean 7 neat. with a clear picture. But if scratching persists chane the CD player or Rom..
good luck...

Clean them with a soft cloth in cirlular motion - NOT up and down then spray some hairspray in the air and let it fall onto the Cd, leave alone until dry and it should work and be more protected against scratches.
I have not done this with a cd but it works on dvd's - failing that buy new ones!

Water and clear dishwasher soap liquid. The kind that has no abbrasives. Dont' use powders. Don't use pot or dish cleaning rags. Use your bare fingers to clean it with. Gently dry with paper towels. If this doesn't work, you may have discs that cannot be repaired. If they are playable, I would suggest duplicating them ASAP.
Don't use toothpaste. It contains abrassives and will really scratch the heck out of your discs.

If you're gonna put your cd's in the boot, I'd suggest you put them in cases first. Of COURSE they came out scratched! What did you expect? If you can't take care of such things, please keep away from them.
