get along after the civil war. He tried to make this comment to compare the U.S. civil war to what is going in Iraq. I thought the United States and America were the same thing.

The man won the election by default & that's all I need to know about him. He obviously wasn't the choice of the majority of US voters & that's a damn shame.

It is true, we did take too long after the civil war to get along with each other and start treating ALL people equally, it is a good comparrison to make becasue he is trying to warn the ethnic groups in that region to learn from our mistakes.

If Bush knew anything about politics he wud have asked someone to tell him what iraq was like to start off with.
too many tribes live there and they all argue. the only thing holding those peeps from killing each other was a dictator that scared the daylights outa them...i.e. saddam husain.
now that hes gone...theyre not afraid of no body :(

That's nothing he wanted his legacy to be that he was the only man that could bring peace to the middle east. He was before he was out of office bring peace to the middle east.
Then later stateing and in a joking manner, that is something even Jesus didn't do. So he singled handledly is bringing peace to the middle east and he is right Jesus couldn't even do that.
That shows you how difficult it is going to be.
