Unfortunately with AVG Free there is only one way to remove a virus - you neet to start up the Control Center and then run a Complete Scan and wait for it to complete. Once it is done, it should put everything into the virus vault, or ask you what you want to do with it if it cannot move it or heal it immediately.

Once it is in the Virus Vault, you can clear out the Virus Vault to permanently delete the files.

Go to Control Center and then Scan your computer for Virus.

Well, I think you have already scanned it? Then, See in the Test Result if it says the infected file was moved to Vault then delete it from there.

I don't trust AVG and Norton now any more!

They have always been bastards because viruses attacked my computer so many times and they have never done more than just downloading Updates and wasting my time and money.

I am currently downloading to installa very good Anti-Virus Software which is FREE and after 14 Months you will need to Renew your registration which is Free for Home PC users.

My friend is using it and it is working very fine! You have Languages Options also. You will have to Pay Nothing for it and it will come with all its capabilities and features. Try it!

AVG isn't good anti-virus utility. The loose version is worse. in case you have viruses your possibly going to could pay the 25 money to get Norton or yet another good protection utility

It's worth getting an expert to check your computer out at:

http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/ubbthreads.php/Cat/0

Register, go to the Hijack This Forum, read the instructions on how to post a log, give a brief description of your problem (like you've just typed) and post your log there. The guys in there are fantastic and trustworthy and will guide you through in getting rid of anything nasty from your computer. Good luck!

don't you people listen? you will have to purchase ther product to remove virus's, spyware etc. i know, i've tried! u get a free setup, do a scan and wow, you have loads of virus's and adware and possibly trojan horses etc! quick, don't panic though, there's a solution. pay x amount to obtain software to get rid of these nasty things and BINGO, they've gone! mmmmmmmmmmmmm...........................were they really there in the first place? don't think so. plus i'm x amount out of pocket. damn this FREE protection. take my advice and but mcafee software or even better still get norton internet security, it's all on one disk and costs around £50, plus u get free updates for a year. isn't that reassuring? up to you though.

Virus vault. You can delete it from the vault once it is in there if you want to.

AVG free edition doesn't have automatic healing so it should automatically put it in the vault thingy and then you just leave it there.

go here...http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/ ..
download.... smitrem......then follow these directions
or the directions from the web site....they are step by step
* Save it to C:\ Drive. Once it has downloaded, double click on it which will extract it. Do not run the actual program yet as it must be done in safe mode.
* Load into Windows Safe mode by restarting the computer and just before the Windows XP screen comes up, press F8 and choose safemode.

Once in Safemode:

* Goto the SmitfraudFix folder which you saved to C:\ Drive earlier and double-click on smitfraudfix.cmd
* A blue screen will come up saying “Enter your Choice: (1,2,3,4,L,Q):”. For this, Press no. 2 on your keyboard.
* SmitFraudFix will start scanning your computer for any files related to this infection, just wait and let it go though its process.
* Once finished it will ask “Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry?” Press Y, as Yes
* SmitFraudFix may discover that your wininet.dll file is damaged (this doesnt happen in all cases so dont worry if it doesnt happen. If it does find that it is damaged, it will ask you to Replace Infected File? Press Y as Yes and hit Enter.
* It will ask you to restart the computer, please let it restart the PC.
* Your computer should be now free from infection however you should run your virus scanner or use a free scanner such as AVG Free
