Here's a list of nudist locations in the USA and worldwide. Naturists/nudists feel that they are less inhibited without clothes...it's a personal choice.

Widely practised? None. Most americans are prudes. There are several naturalist organizations but many people are unaware of their existense. They key here is the use of the word widely. It is practised in all of the states but only by a select few who are comfortable with their own nudity.

don't know about parts -- i live in orlando, fl and there is a nudist trailer park in a town called poinciana. there is also a nude beach by cape canaveral. it is on federal land so you can run around naked or something like that.
