Acording to the AVG scan I did, a virus is located in my "archieves files", and acording to the report when I scanned on Avast, it says "archievs files are disabled". What does this mea? How did it get in there, and how can I fix it?? Thanks!

My advice is that keep one antivirus on your system. Moreover, AVG and Avast are fierce competitors, so the two software will conflict each other. AVG is a tad better, so go fot it.

I use AVG free edition. If it's complaining about JavaByteverify in the temporary Java files folder, you can probably ignore it. That's a common false positive. You can delete the archive (basically a .zipped) file, but it will come back the next time you run Java.

I would take "archives are disabled" to mean that Avast isn't attempting to scan inside of compressed/zipped files.

On your avast system page, click on local disc in the bottom of the of the pop up you will see a small box marked scan archive files if the box is empty just put your kurser on the box and left click this will put a check in the box, you have just enabled your archive scan.
also you will see a slide bar above the box put your kurser on the rectangular slide hold your left button down and move the slide all the way to the right this will give you a thorough scan.

If you cant put it in the virus chest, run avast again, but disable system restore before you scan. Make sure not to forget to enable system restore after you get rid of the infected file.
