The band says that they chose the numbers at random though Barker stated that the "182" was the U.S. radio code meaning 'homicide'.

they added the name for name infringment purposes from the irish band Blink , just like the band BUSH in canada they were called BUSH-X . Thats all.

I don't think any bands name make much sense. If the name they made up works they stick with it.
