When your Doctor takes a blood test to see if your pregnant does the test just specifically test for pregnancy or do the results cover a number of things ? Recently my Doctor did a blood test for some problems I was having with my diet. I was wondering If I was pregnant would that show up on his test ??

they only run the tests they tell you they are running.. different tests sometimes require different tubes (they have different chemicals in them) or maybe different machines to run the test.. and they don't' draw too much blood, just a little more than they need.

No. The test has to be specific for pregnancy. The doctor can order multiple tests, however unless a specific pregnancy test is ordered non of the results will tell you anything.

No unless he specifically ordered a pregnancy test. Nutritional tests have nothing to do with pregnancy tests.

If it was very recently (within a few days), your doc may be able to ask the lab to add on a serum pregnancy test.
