Naples 6 , Are you giving your children the chance to decide for them selves about God or not?It certainly isn't for the school to teach or tell them about God,that's YOUR job. Then let them decide for themselves what they want to believe in.
But give um a chance.
Why can they in prison but not in school?
In prison there are rules,a code of conduct,.
Out here,we have freedom of speech. We have rights.
Out here,we can say we dont believe the laws this country was founded on.
Out here,we can say:we dont believe in morals.
It is ok for men to sleep and mate with other men.(not even animals do that).
It's ok to change out your wife, just because she burnt your breakfast.

If our kids were taught and reading more of the bible, they wouldn't have to Wait till they got to prison to learn about God.

Personally, I don't think it's the schools responsibility to teach our children right from wrong. It's our responsibility as parents.
I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I think you can teach and preach the Bible until you're blue in the face, but that isn't the only answer to teaching children right from wrong. I completely believe in God and the Bible, but there a lot of people out there that had the Christian upbringing and taught from the Bible, yet they still turn out to do really bad stuff! And there are people who raise their child without the Bible, and their children turn out to be really productive citizens who don't break the law!
As far as I'm concerned, my husband and I have taught our children not to lie, not to steal, and to NEVER judge anyone, and I think we're doing a pretty good job. I can already see very early signs in my younger children that show they are very loving, honest, and caring little people.
Honestly, I find a lot of people who claim to be Christians very judgmental of others, and so I only want my husband and I, or people we feel share our beliefs on what it means to be a Christian, to teach our children about Christianity. I don't want my kids taught that it's ok to not like someone because of their sexual preference, color of skin or lack of money. And frankly, these are the very things I seem happening with people who claim to be so "Godly."
Someone who is in jail is there because they decided to break the law, not because they didn't read the Bible in school. Most of us didn't read the Bible in school, and we turned out fine! My husband has never read the entire Bible, and he's the kindest person I know, and probably the biggest Christian I've ever met. I feel my children will follow in his footsteps just fine.

I agree. And if there is supposed to be separation of church and state, why must we lay our hand on the Bible to be sworn in under oath?
