If i use my existing USA cellphone overseas, will my number show on caller id or will it show an overseas #?

I am doing a criminal investigation and am wondering if a military person is overseas, and he calls back to the states using his cell phone. Will his correct number show up on caller id at the number he is calling or will it show some internation misc number?

It will show as a local or U.S. number. One of my supplier contacts travels to Germany regularly. When she calls, she sounds, and it appears, that she is calling from down the street.

if u paid a roaming fee to ur network back in d U.S,yeah, ur number would appear when u call from God knows where u are. but it would be otherwise if u didn't pay,cheers and watch ur back while u're incestigating man.
