Many kids grow up just fine in single family households so no, a mother and father are not requirements nor RIGHTS to a normal childhood.
I know some gay and lesbian couples who would do a much better job raising children than some heterosexual couples where the parents are negligent or abusive.

Parents are not a right. They're something you either have or you don't. Like a left hand. If you're missing a hand, that's sad, but there's not really anything we can do about it except give you a prosthetic. If a child is in foster care, the best thing we can do for them is give them a stable home environment that mimics what they would ideally have with their biological family.
Gay couples who adopt ought to be held to the same standard as straight couples. They need to be able to demonstrate emotional, financial, and medical stability. Beyond that, society ought to be grateful that there are eligible couples willing to adopt. State foster care systems are incredibly overtaxed, and as a result, the children in their care suffer. They are moved from facility to facility where they do not get enough care.

One would think that children ARE imbued with certain rights to mothers and fathers, as God and Nature intended, but when it comes to divorce court any vestige of children's rights goes right out the window. But it isn't the fault of same-gender parents that kids don't have rights; many parents have denied their kids proper environments for growth. And what subset of sexual orientation made the current set of laws? Certainly not the minority one!
The only kids that have any rights are the wealthy ones who can essentially divorce their parents to prevent the parents from blowing their fortunes. Not a good childhood. How many stories have we seen of child stars having terrible lives?
But what you have left out of your question is what to do with the thousands of unwanted children, the results of lust gone wild in America. Who will raise them? The foster parent system helps some of them but there are many stories of abuse, neglect and opportunism of these lost kids. Wouldn't a well-to-do gay couple be better than a trailer out in the woods with a bunch of other kids? Try to imagine yourself as the social worker who has to see these kids every month.
Certainly a child does best when he lives with his natural parents who love him and care for his future. But in the real world we have kids in need NOW and solutions must be used that work NOW. The State has an interest in finding the best available parents for these parentless kids, and while orientation may be a tiebreaker for an adoption competition, it should not be an absolute exclusion. From the childrens' point of view, the best available parents should be selected to promote their health, growth and well-being.

By saying that two men or two women can do a better job then a mother and father combined then your saying God didn't know what HE was doing when he made it possible for only a man and woman coming together to create life.

Children everywhere have the right to a mother and father, a two parent family. Actually children should have the right to a biological family without all the extras. But sadly our american society has ruined the family.

You have to redefine family...you've just crapped on a lot of people with your statement. Single parents usually don't take on that responsibility without very valid reason, then we have families who've lost a parent to death, abusive families...there are many reasons.
I bet you're also a pro-lifer & one would have to wonder who would take care of the child if the mother wasn't able to.
I have gay friends & in no way does thier sexuality define what kind of parent they could be.
We don't live in a fairy tale...welcome to real life.

every child deserves a parent to love them and if there is two regarless of what gender they are is still better then one.there is so many children that need to be adopted to a good home and even if they are gay it dosent mean that it will effect the way the child is brought up i would be way more concerned if the child was bounced around home to home.

I agree with you. There is a reason why God provided both male and female. There will be huge consequences to pay for tampering with this system of nature. Sometimes I wish I had lived in my grandmother's day, for I wish I didn't have to see the disaster that is to come.
