Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and growing fast.
Spend a day in La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, a modern acropolis with incredible architecture by Santiago Calatrava( the home city of the architect) and Felix Candela. You can find there the largest aquarium in Europe and a Imax theater.
The America's Cup will be celebrated there next year, but you can go to the sea port or Malvarrosa beach to take a look of the millionaire fleet. The city center is also beautifull with probably the largest "mercado" building in Spain, the Minaret and the Cathedral. If you are in the mode for Spanish party's check for Las Fallas fiestas, where giant sculptures ended in a bonfire. Is you like museums the IVAN is a good one.
