shes 3, and knows that a vagina is a vagina...not a hoo ha, a penis is a penis...not a wee wee, and that she has a clitoris. She knows that boys have a penis and girls have a vagina, and she is obsessed with boobies. No the child is not being abused, just naturally curious, and as her mother I would rather her grow up with the proper terminology, and a healthy attitude towards her body, not a shameful one.

shes going to preschool soon, should i give her teachers a heads up, that even though we talk to her about only talking about her parts at home, that sometimes she will talk about them in public?

oh yes !! they will need a heads up , i know !! i taught all my children proper names also and never had a problem till one day the kindergarten teacher was going child by child asking for words that started with the alphabet my daughter got the V so she stood up pleased as punch and announced VAGINA nice and loud. teacher called me to tell me she had never in 29 years of teaching been so "amused , dumbfounded and suprised" . she called it "the highlight of my career " . we attended her retirement dinner the followiing year and were suprised ourselves to hear her repeat her experience in her speech.

Be careful that she doesn't grow up too fast and teach her child to call you Grandma before you know it.
