They are not for Catholics or Episcopalians, or most people who can think for themselves.

As a Christian, I have no problem with creationism and evolution co-existing.

At the moment of the Big Bang, God acted, setting events in motion and physical laws which led to our development, including evolution. At least, that's one possibility. I don't know if we'll ever really understand what happened before the first microsecond or so of the Big Bang. Everything after that we've got a pretty good set of self-consistent scientific theories which only become stronger in time.

It's hubris to suggest that human beings on earth are unique and special in God's eyes.

Our realization of the size of the universe and deeper understanding of how it came into being should only fill us with deeper awe of the size and complexity of the creation.

First off, Mark P has a great answer!

There is conflict because evolutionists in the beginning used their evidence to say that there was no god, that everything is random, and hence the two ideologies have become mutually exclusive. As Mark P has pointed out, this did not have to happen especially since the only really big difference between Darwin and Moses is the amount of time needed to get from "Let there be light" to me (the pinnacle of evolution and the greatest creation of all time!).

the conflict is because the two disagree. Although most catholics/christians will agree that micro evolution exists (small adaptational changes). However, when it comes to ape to man evolution, they disagree completely on this fact. So how would they not be in conflict. It's best just to respect other people beliefs so there is no conflict.

Why do people need to give their opinion. It didn't ask which is right, which is wrong. It just asked why they are in conflict. People come here and say "because those stupid athiests don't agree with me" or "those stupid catholics don't agree with". That's not a reason. It's just giving your opinion on which is true. You morons aren't even answering the question.

In order to not conflict we have a couple of choices. first that half of humanity came about by creation, and the other half by evolution. Or we could say that humanity was created up to a certain point, from there evolution took over and completed the job.
The second part of your question has me stumped. What is not for people who think for themselves ? I do all of my own thinking. Did I evolve or was I created ?

Evolution contradicts the Bible, and biblical lieralists constructed the so-called "Scientific Creationism" to wedge an alternate view into school curriculums.

Catholic Creationism merely states God created the universe and with the principle of Transformism, is completely compatible with evolution.

They dont really have to be.
God could have created creatures through evolution, though no one knows. Plus the lack of fossil records. One or two skeletons of a mutated monkey are not "proof" of evolution.

What causes the conflict is the origin, Evolutionists say life emerged through a primitive mud soup after being struck by lightning, which really is rubbish.

thats because some religions or religious factions arent as pushy and will change their minds over issues in time-
such as catholics now eating meat on friday. this shows reason.

if you just swallow everything some crazy pastor tells you without question, well now wonder you are dumb enough to believe your religion is a science!

They are only conflicting because the pig-headed religious zealots refuse to accept reality, and they want to keep like-minded followers in the dark so that they can continue to drain their bank accounts.
