Where do I sit on the political spectrum?

Left wing:
No fault insurance
Funding public health and education
Saying "sorry about that" in as many words to the Aborigines
Introducing a civilian militia
Teaching both the good and bad parts of Australian history
Shortening refugee waiting times
Withdrawing troops from Iraq
Retaining Australian inventions and demanding payment for the ones that went overseas
Promoting stemcell research and suspended animation (the latter as per Dr Mark Roth)

Right wing:

Re-introducing duelling (only unarmed this time and not to the death)
Issuing breeding licences and neutering people who commit murder, rape or assault occasioning grievous bodily harm
Banishing violent foreigners
Reintroducing flogging for non-Aborigines and handing Aborigines back to Elders for punishment
Taxing religious institutions 10%
Banning the preaching of religion to anyone with a mental age of under 18.

Dunno about the Land Down Under but in America, I'd call you a reasonable Independent with a pragmatic view of life.

Just remember to vote if and when you can.

One note, however. About the dueling, two alternatives.
1. Either be passionate enough about the issue that you'd be willing to die for it and get armed or just take it to the pub and discuss it over a pint,...or
2. If you're going to have an unarmed dust-up, get it impartially witnessed, loser has to leave town within 10 days and move at least 15 miles away.

Otherwise, you're just legitimizing brawls. Go play footie.
