Painting fence panels. Putting up wallpaper on one's own usually results in being covered with paste as the roll of paper flops down over one's head!
Although -- I have to admit -- I've never actually painted fence panels and I do remember that Tom Sawyer showed a marked aversion to doing it!

lets see now, putting up wallpaper requires a bit of measuring cutting and gluing, bit of lining up and smoothing the lumps out. Cutting round switches and sockets and getting frustrated when the gaps vary in size. Painting fence panels involves getting outside in the fresh air and slapping a bit of paint on, perhaps the downside is its so boring. I would say the Wallpaper, it gives you something to think about; you can look at it and be pleased with yourself that its a job well done.
