Those rednecks in the south...lol! Okay, I'm from the south and have a lot of southern pride but seriously are they just lazy or what?

I use my Christmas glasses on and off through the year as a reminder that every day is a gift from God. I know lots of people leaving Christmas decorations up till a serviceman returns home. You're right you don't have to take em down and put them back up but you do have to dust them all year and who wants to do that?

I hate to give such a simple answer but, MY SISTER DOES.
Talk about a nut case. She lives in Kansas so it's not like it's some kind of other country's religious practice.
She just leaves some ornaments though not the Whole tree. That goes up day after Halloween and comes down between March and June or the next year. (LIT THE WHOLE TIME)

Yes! There is a house in fairway KS that is COVERED from rooftop to lawn with decorations.
I love Christmas. It doesn't bug me. I think it is a little tacky, but I can understand wanting to keep them up.
I put my decorations up only a couple days before Xmas, but I leave them up until the end of January....it's just me.

I have memories of a friend of my mother that ever had a nativity scene around year, there were lovely Italian porcelain figurines she displayed at a showcase at her parlor, and I loved to observe the treasured decorations. Christmas trees, glass spheres and garlands catching dust, in contrast, seem to me of a very bad taste, or symptoms of a sick mind.

I see it a lot with older people that do not want to take the time to put them away and backup again.

many people in our little towns do..I live in the country between 2 small towns,...many don't light them up at night, they are only still on their house to keep from having to rehang them,as stated here..Not all of them are older people though..That made me laugh..lol...Its very common around here though so its not odd to us...=)
