I don't know from what experience those of you who call JRP as scam are talking, but I can say that such an established agency wouldn't remain so successful and influential in the field if it were bogus. My daughter is involved and we're quite pleased.

Total scam. You should be able to find a modeling coach/instructor who will not require you to have your photos done with them, or charge you out the wazoo for all kinds of extras. An agent, if that's what you're looking for, will be completely separate, and will not charge you anything up front, only a percentage on any work you get.
What I did was just walked up to models I saw working at the mall, and asked them where they got their training. I got a referral to a really good instructor.

Well like any Modelling School they're out to make a buck. Sure they can teach you prim and prose. But really they're expensive. You can learn some there, but you may be best off looking for a reputible agent and getting jobs through them. If they're good, they will know other places you can learn to be a better model//spokesperson through. Some things to keep in mind, there's a lot of jobs out there for models, and you'll need to set rules on what you will and will not do. (read nudes) and stick to it. there will be a lot of stupid jobs, but it only takes one really good one to break into the public eye (get discovered) So good luck, and look around..

When i was in high school I think I went through his class. Isn't a public speaking class?? If I remember, it helped me alot. They help you memorize people's names and learn how to talk in front of a crowd. It was good. I learned alot.
